Conformance Test System for ISDN Telephones offers a complete and automated test solution for type approval and factory testing complying the ETSI CTR8 standard.

The System is conceived to operate either in the factory noisy environment (CS8014 speech measure algorithm cancels room noise) or in quiet room as a laboratory.
It can be easily calibrated using internal automated procedures giving a traceable calibration report.

The following devices compose the above Test System:

Basic Test Equipment	CS8014	Basic Controller able to perform all the tests required by the PSTN telephone Set.
Digital Telephone Interface	ISDN-4	Interface able to operate on ISDN TE terminals (telephones) or on ISDN PABX connected through the S-Bus.
Acoustic Interfaces	AC-3 AC-3 VV PH-18	Test Head for Handsets Structure for hands free measurements Sound Level Meter for ringer

The ISDN-4 Interface, here described, allows the CS8014 to extend effectively the functional testing, toward the ISDN telephone terminals. Especially it can operates on TE terminals (telephones) or on PABX connected through the S-Bus.

By this Conformance Test System the functional tests listed on the following table are executable :

Test Cases

Calling and dialling the subscriber number (TE mode).
Feed-through selection on PABX.
Measure of acoustic level of the alerting device.
Sending and Receiving Sensitivity Frequency Response and Loudness Rating (level)
Talker Sidetone (STMR).
Stability loss.
Variation of Sending & Receiving Gain vs input Level.

ISDN-4 Interface Front View

The power supply for the Terminal Under Test is supplied by CS8014, equally the controls for the Interface setup are carry-out by the Programmable CS8014 Actuators.
ISDN-4 can be set either as TE (Terminal Equipment) or NT (Network Termination). It works with both the A (Europe) and m (USA) PCM laws.

ISDN-4 Interface has a built-in DTS (Digital Test Signal) generator, certifiable, by which the User can simply and easily calibrate the transfer characteristic in both the directions D/A and A/D.

The design of the ISDN-4 Interface complies the requirements of the Standard ETSI - CTR8 - Appendix 1, so it is effectively useful for testing, characterization and approvals for Digital Telephone Terminals.
